        ABOUT THE ROLE

        ABOUT THE ROLE

        ABOUT THE ROLE

        We are looking for conscientious, inclusive, innovative and highly motivated individual to deliver inspirational teaching & learning on our Technical Theatre and Performing Arts courses at level 2 and 3. The successful applicant will join a highly proactive team and will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Technical Theatre curriculum. The role involves being a course tutor for a group of students study programmes providing support for students achievement and progression to their next step towards meeting their career goals.

        The Technical Theatre tutor will work closely with our Grange Theatre staff and Performing Arts tutors to train our UAL student in performance and production skills. We have large scale productions three times a year and touring productions which you and Technical Theatre student manage alongside our Theatre technicians.

        Our study programmes ensures students are both academically and practically prepared for work within technically and creatively driven industries. Our Creative study programs offer 16-19 & 24+ pathways in technical theatre, performing arts and music.  Our students work in the Grange Theatre in Oldham gaining experience in a professional context.  

        The Performing Arts team are closely involved with regional employers who shape and support our curriculum and staff.  

        You should have the following:-

        With a relevant degree/industrial experience and a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this, you will have a broad range of skills relating to stage craft. Experience of UCAS and supporting students through courses and study programmes is desirable. You will have good organisational skills and be able to advise and support students through their career development and planning. Ongoing staff training and support is available as part of our professional development for curriculum staff. We are currently working with Tom Sherrington on a Teach to Distinction programme of training for Teaching and Learning.

        ABOUT THE ROLE

        As we continue to develop exceptional services for the future, we need outstanding and committed professionals to join our College.

        Due to growth and the redesign of our Supported Internship programme, we are now looking for a flexible number of job coaches to work with us to support work placements specifically tailored for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

        The role of the Job Coach is to assist learners with access to facilities within the College and on work placements. The coach will liaise with employers to develop a suitable job role, incorporating the skill-set and the future ambitions of the student. You will:-

      • work with the Supported Internship Work Placement Co-ordinator to develop a task analysis of the intern’s role and provide on-the-job training to support the development of appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours.
      • identify students’ barriers to employment and assist students to overcome these barriers.
      • work with our Tutors to develop appropriate resources to support the intern to work independently on tasks.

      Success will be measured by how many students attain full time or part time work at the end of the programme.

        ABOUT THE ROLE

        You will co-ordinate a team of Learning Support Workers and work with external agencies to provide a high quality and responsive service. You will have strong organisational skills, a multi-disciplinary approach and a good working knowledge of the Equality Act and SEND Reforms.

        ABOUT THE ROLE

        You will be part of the Additional Learning Support team (ALS) who are dedicated to providing the support necessary to enable our students to realise their learning ambitions.

        The role of the CSW is to enable deaf students to access, as fully as possible, the curriculum. The post will involve interpreting for staff and students.
